This afternoon's beer: Tröegs Hopback Amber
Pine and citrus on top, with caramel-toasty malt coming forward nicely. Flowers and grass hang around in background with bready-fruity-syrupy sweetness.
Juicy mouthfeel, like orange juice, and almost pulpy. Medium-light body with decent carbonation. Some slight syrupy-bready stickiness on the long, drying finish. Scrubbing.
It's not Nugget Nectar, but that's about the only negative thing I can say about this beer. Balanced and very drinkable, with a decent flavor-to-booze ratio. Very refreshing.
