Tonight's beer: Anderson Valley Winter Solstice
Bread, toast, caramel, vanilla, spices, fruits (dried/candied). Earthy-grassy bitterness, with distant pine and citrus. Maybe some distant maple or other sugary syrup.
Mouthfeel is bready, a bit syrupy—definitely more than a little sticky. Decently carbonated. Both refreshing and satisfying: an impressive combination.
A very nice Winter Warmer, slightly on the biggish side. Bready and packed with vanilla, caramel, and spices. Drinkable, and flavorful—intense and complex. Even if there's not room for a sixer, it's worth grabbing a couple when it's around.
