G. Schneider & Sohn Mein Nelson Sauvin

Tonight's beer: G. Schneider & Sohn Mein Nelson Sauvin

G. Schneider & Sohn Mein Nelson Sauvin

Taste is bready and light and pale, with lots of bananas and cloves. Grassy-floral, slightly sitrussy bitterness balances things out a bit. Some caramel around the edges. Finishes very pleasantly dry.

Light-bodied, nicely carbonated. Virtually no trace of alcohol—at 7.3% ABV, there probably should at least be something. Very drying, massively refreshing.

A very *very* nice weizenbock. I make it as being the third in the style I've had from Schneider, and they've all been awesome. Flavorful—intense and complex and balanced and integrated—and scarily drinkable. Impressively graceful and subtle, and a marvelous beer to drink while welcoming in 2012.
