Tonight's beer: Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Citrus, lots of citrus, backed by pine, grass, flowers, distant spice and maybe earth. Structure of bread, light toast, caramel. Some hints of juicy sweetness going with the bread and caramel.
Mouthfeel is simultaneously bready and juicy, somehow. Plenty of carbonation. Long resinous-syrupy finsih, very drying. Finishes very cleansing and refreshing.
A very drinkable IPA from one of America's definitive craft brewers. They've been brewing this beer to celebrate the winter holidays for a long time, and they really have it nailed. Intense and complex and wonderfully integrated. Worth a sixer every year.
