Tonight's beer: Uinta (Crooked Line) Twisted Smile

Uinta (Crooked Line) Twisted Smile

Bready and toasty malts, light, with a bit of caramel, underneath grassy-floral hoppy bitterness, maybe some hints of pine. Distant possibilities of fruit, maybe spice and/or toffee.

The mouthfeel is (unshockingly) bready and just about medium-bodied, maybe a little denser than that, with decent carbonation. Filling, satisfying, refreshing. Maybe just a touch of booze, way in the back.

Yummy. Amazingly drinkable, very helles bock-like. Nicely balanced and integrated, with more intensity than one might expect. Substantial strength (9% ABV) carried with surprising subtlety and grace. The second big-time winner I've had in this series.
