Tonight's beer: Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Hoppy bitterness on top--pine and citrus with flowers and grass right behind. Spicy and earthy hints more in the background. Mineral sharpness emerges on the kinda prickly finish, with some bread and caramel struggling for balance.
Mouthfeel is just on the light side of medium-bodied, with substantial prickle that could be carbonation or alcohol or hops. Some resinous, syrupy stickiness; finish is long and lingering. Very drying.
One of the big winter seasonal beers in the craft-brewing world, with very good reason. Not exactly a balanced beer, but neatly integrated. Very drinkable. An excellent beer from Sierra Nevada; if they've made a disappointing beer, I haven't had it.
