Tonight's beer: Magic Hat Howl
Chocolate on top, with caramel, coffee, toffee, and dark toast coming right behind. Earth, grass, maybe some peat and/or smoke lurking in the background. Overall, nicely dry.
Light-bodied, with decent carbonation; roasty-dry--especially on the finish--and immensely refreshing. Some light lingering stickiness.
A very fine schwarzbier. I like the style, and I really like this beer. Balanced, complex, and very drinkable. Goes well with winter-ish foods like stews and roasts. Lots of dark flavors. Yummy.
