Tonight's beer: Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock
Taste features chocolate, front and center, with dark bread (hits of toastiness) and caramel right behind. Maybe a little nuttiness and toffee lurking, with the faintest hint of dark dried/candied fruits. A little in the way of grassy-floral bitterness coming near to striking a balance. Maybe some earth and peat in there, too.
Body is a little bready, more than a little syrupy. Decent carbonation that seems muted somehow. A little roasty dryness on teh long ahs sticky finish. Smooth and filling.
The beer definitely lives up to its name--there's chocolate here for days, but it's pretty well-integrated into the rest of the beer. A nicely drinkable beer, and very yummy.
