Learning Saturday! Beer #3: Southern Tier Gemini
Pine, citrus, flowers, and grass--complex bitterness explodes across the tongue, right from the start, with pale bread/caramel/pale-fruity sweetness struggling to maintain some balance (and mostly failing). Musty and spicy threads flicker past. Dries out before the middle and finishes practically arid.
Remarkably light-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Some resinous stickiness, very drying and awfully close to refreshing; cleansing, scrubbing even. Practically zero alcohol presence.
This is a beer that could get me into a lot of trouble--there's roughly no hint of the 9% ABV. Heavily tilted toward the bitter, but lots of complexity to the beer to go with the intensity. Scarily drinkable and startlingly well-integrated. Very yummy.
