Founders Double Trouble

Fruity-citrussy/musky/piney bitterness up front, on top, in center, with grass, flowers, and hints of spice and cattiness more in the background.. Some sweetness providing structure and a little contrast/relief--pale bread, hints of caramel, crackers, and maybe toast/marmalade. Finishes dry, eventually.

Body is kinda light--barely medium--with a good deal of prickle that feels more like alcohol than carbonation. Just a bit of piny-resinous stickiness. Very drying and almost refreshing, with a long finish that's cleansing almost to the point of scrubbing.

An almost-astoundingly intense Double IPA that doesn't even wave at balanced as it blows past. Searingly bitter, but surprisingly drinkable in the face of that. Not as subtle with the booze content as some other examples of the style, but quite pleasant.
