Uinta (Crooked Line) Labyrinth

Tonight's beer: Uinta (Crooked Line) Labyrinth

Uinta (Crooked Line) Labyrinth

Chocolate on top, with maybe a touch of coffee. Black licorice right behind, with caramel/burnt fruity sweetness lurking. Vanilla, oak, maybe some distant butter. Earth/peat/ash/smoke off on the horizon. The vaguest hint of sour whiskey something--character from the rye whiskey barrels the beer is aged in, perhaps.

Kinda dense mouthfeel, a little oily/viscous maybe, with some decent carbonation and maybe some dim boozy prickle. A little syrupy stickiness, especially on the finish. Gently drying, with some soft warmth in the belly; very satisfying and filling.

A very impressive--and impressively drinkable--big stout. Tons of flavor--complex and intense; nicely integrated. Not much warning of the 13+% ABV. Definitely a beer one could get lost in. Lots of subtle things that reward close attention. Another very yummy beer in Uinta's Crooked line.
