This afternoon's beer: Port City Optimal Wit
Citrus--orange and lemon--on top of pale bread, with pepper, grass, and bright spice right behind. Some tangy-tart-gently acidic smack off in the distance. Dries out by the finish.
Very light-bodied, and highly carbonated. Some soft pucker, but very refreshing. The finish is pretty quick and very clean.
On a good day for a witbier, an excellent witbier. For as moderate a beer as this is--5% ABV--there is a ton of flavor here. Complex, integrated, and balanced; refreshing and impressively drinkable. A good introduction to the brewery.
