Tonight's beer: Lagunitas Sucks
Citrus on top, with pine and melons (I think) and other possible tropical fruits; touches of musk, flowers, grass, and perfume. Pale bread and caramel in the background, with hints of juicy fruitiness. Dries out gradually from start through to finish.
Kinda light-bodied, with lots of carbonation and maybe a touch of boozy prickle. Drying and very refreshing; cleansing and almost scrubbing.
Just to get this out of the way: Lagunitas does not suck. This is a very tasty IPA, just on the verge of what I'd want to call a DIPA. Plenty of intensity and complexity, very much mostly in the hops, but this is a more balanced beer than one might expect. Nicely drinkable.
Cheers to Xmas in April!
