Tonight's beer: Samuel Adams Alpine Spring
Grassy-floral bitterness, touches of things more like herbs, and some lemony-citrussy bitterness lurking. Pale bread and crackers, a little caramel and some honey off in the distance. Nicely dry.
Light-bodied, with decent lively carbonation. A little bready stickiness, but dries out rapidly and finishes remarkably clean. Very, very refreshing, with some gentle tartness adding to the refreshment.
A massively-drinkable beer, and startlingly refreshing. Plenty of flavor, relatively direct--simple, but not exactly simplistic. I don't know kellerbiers, particularly, but this seems to be a very spiffy introduction ot the style. Yummy.
