Brasserie Dupont Forêt Blanche

Tonight's beer: Brasserie Dupont Forêt Blanche

Brasserie Dupont Forêt Blanche

Pale bread, a little toast and caramel very much in background, topped with lemony-floral-lactic tartness and peppery wheaty character. Some grassy-floral bitterness playing along, between the bread and the tartness and the wheat. Dies out quickly and thoroughly.

Light-bodied mouthfeel, highly-carbonated; tartness almost puckeing; immensely drying; cleansing, refreshing. The finish is very clean.

A very nice, clean, refreshing, drinkable witbier. More subtle than complex, at least to start, but the flavors do come forward quite a bit as the beer warms. Clearly has Dupont's house yeast character, which I think is a very good thing. Definitely something to try again. Yummy.
