Tonight's beer: Dogfish Head/Stone/Victory Saison du Buff (Dogfish Head bottling)
Pale bread on top, with complex herbal flavors (no surprise there) wrapped around it. Herbal-grassy-floral bitterness rises up through the middle, lingers into a very dry finish. Maybe something fruity way off in the distance, still bone-dry; impressions of funk from somewhere (don't know where).
This is a very light-bodied beer, with lots of carbonation; dry and drying; clean and cleaning, without being scouring. Very refreshing.
A fascinating beer, entirely to the good. Not something I'd want to drink every night, but a nice break from beers that are ... predictable (not to say mundane). I can easily see having this with food, and letting the beer carry the herbs to the table (leaving them out of the food). Very complex, and well-integrated. Kudos to Victory, +Dogfish Head Craft Brewery , and +Stone Brewing Co. !
