Tonight's beer: Great Divide Espresso Oak-Aged Yeti

Great Divide Espresso Oak-Aged Yeti

Lots of coffee up front, dark and massive, with chocolate and dark bread right behind. Some strong impressions of caramel and burnt-fruit providing something like balance. Hints of earth, grass, peat, and ash lurking in the background, on a faint vanilla and wood foundation.

The mouthfeel is thick, dense, and heavy. Roasty-dry for days and days. Sticky and bready-chewy, with pretty decent carbonation. Some drying, on the finish, and a little warmth, but otherwise not a lot of alcohol presence, considering the 9.5% ABV.

Awesome. Tons of roasty character, added to a very good Russian Imperial Stout. Wood character more subtle. Intense, complex, integrated. Very yummy. The last of the Yetis for the bottle collection (because I don't expect to ever see the whiskey-barrel-aged variant).
