Tonight's beer: Stillwater/Mikkeller Our Side
Lots of piney-citrussy bitterness, with hints of flowers and grass. Other pale fruits lingering, with pale bread and maybe a touch of caramel. Spicy-earthy-funky impressions flashing past before the bitterness reappears and the finish dries all the way out on a sharp, flinty-mineral snap.
Light-bodied mouthfeel, with a great deal of carbonation. Distinct mineral-flinty edge. Not much sensation of 7.5% ABV—just a little warmth. Finish is quick, clean, and cleansing.
Two great gypsy brewers who appear to brew great together. A nice take on a saison, with some more-typically-American hoppiness. Very drinkable, and surprisingly intense. Complex and nicely integrated. Yummy as hell.
