DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter

Tonight's beer: DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter

DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter

Milk chocolate, caramel, dark bread/toast, hints of toast and coffee. Hints of earth, grass, burnt/dried fruits. Dim hints of something like a sour tang, off in the distance. Slow to dry out, and remains kinda sweet all the way to the finish.

Mouthfeel is kinda slick, kinda chewy. Pretty dense, with decent carbonation. Some roasty-dryness, but mostly round and full. A little bit of syrupy-bready stickiness on a pretty long finish.

A very nice porter, from a very local brewer I'm coming to like and respect. Very drinkable, with lots of intense and complex flavor, nicely balanced and integrated. Impressive and yummy, with a helluva flavor-to-booze ratio.
