Tonight's beer: Deschutes Red Chair NWPA

Deschutes Red Chair NWPA

Tons of citrussy bitterness to start, with emerging pine, flowers and grass. Bread, caramel, and toast solidly in the background, with maybe a trace of honey. Pretty dry from start to quick and snappy finish.

Medium-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Drying and cleansing to the point of being (pleasantly) scrubbing. Startlingly refreshing. A trace of resinous stickiness at the finish.

A very nice take on an American Pale Ale. Plenty of bitterness for the style—that's where most of the beer's complexity is—and very nicely balanced. Immensely drinkable—bordering on the slurpable. Yummy as hell. Another big-time winner from +Deschutes Brewery. Thanks to +Andrew Nixon for this!
