Flying Dog Woody Creek White

Tonight's beer: Flying Dog Woody Creek White

Flying Dog Woody Creek White

Lemon (and vague hints of other citrus) blended with bright and flowery spiciness, on top of pale bread and tart peppery wheat. Some grassy bitterness in the middle, then a clear lactic presence emerges through to the pretty quick and dry finish.

Very light-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Cleansing, scrubbing, drying, refreshing. Finish is clean, quick, and dry. A little on the smooth side, for all that. Slight lingering lactic pucker.

A nice witbier. Decently complex, well integrated. I like the lactic presence in the past couple American wits I've had (this and Port City's Optimal Wit); makes the beer almost stunningly refreshing. Drinkable almost ot he point of slurpable. Not necessarily a beer that will blow anyone's doors off, but it's not a style that tends toward that. Yummy.
