Tonight's beer: Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA
Pale fruits on top—citrus, pale fruits; musky melons off in the distance—backed by pine, flowers, and grass. Strong hints of bright spices. Pale bread, toast, and caramel as background/support structure. Maybe a little peppery wheat character.
Kinda medium-bodied and soft, with what feels like pretty decent carbonation (even in the absence of visible bubbles). A bit of resinous and bready stickiness on the finish. Nicely quenching and refreshing and cleansing; drying on the finish.
A very drinkable beer, in one of the newer, fringier styles (White IPA). Complex and intense, balanced and integrated. Good to see one of the nine-hundred-pound gorillas of the #craftbeer world trying something sorta new and different. Nice.
