Uinta Hyve Honey Ale

Tonight's beer: Uinta Hyve Honey Ale

Uinta Hyve Honey Ale

Bread, toast, caramel; substantial honey presence but not cloying or even particularly sweet. Earthy-grassy-floral bitterness, but more of a background/balancing element.

Lightly-bready mouthfeel, with a touch of chewiness and pretty good carbonation. Gently drying and very refreshing. Finish is quite clean, with just a touch of stickiness on the back of the finish.

A nice little blonde ale by a brewery I've come to trust and respect a lot. Plenty of flavor for 4% ABV, and decently complex. Honey present but integrated rather than dominant. Drinkable—sessionable, even, if that's your bag. Yummy.
