Victory Dark Intrigue

Tonight's beer: Victory Dark Intrigue

Victory Dark Intrigue

Dark bread, chocolate, hints of coffee, peat and earth; vanilla underpinning things, with grace notes of butter and oak. Grassy-floral hops character envelops the middle through to the finish. Flickering impressions of burnt dark fruits, but the beer is quite roasty-dry.

Big and viscous mouthfeel, roasty-dry with some distinct boozy presence—mostly bourbon-esque. Decently carbonated. Eventually, filling and satisfying.

Very nice, slightly dressed-up version of Victory's excellent Storm King stout. Big and burly and obviously potent; surprisingly graceful and almost drinkable. An excellent sipping beer. A victory for Victory. Yummy.
