Tonight's beer: Victory/Stone/Dogfish Head Saison du BUFF
Lots of herb character—savory and complex—blended with lightly-toasted pale bread. The barest hint of sweetness way in the background. A little grassy bitterness emerges toward and through the very dry finish.
Very light-bodied, decently-carbonated. A little bready stickiness on the finish, but otherwise very clean. Cleansing and refreshing, without much alcohol presence for 6.8% ABV.
A remarkably savory beer. As with the version from +Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, reminds me of turkey stuffing. Probably a beer that would go marvelously with lots of different foods, and one that makes me wish Thanksgiving were soon (though I'd really rather see the rest of the baseball season, thanks). Intense and complex and integrated, and astonishingly drinkable. Very yummy.
