St. Feuillien Saison

Tonight's beer: St. Feuillien Saison

St. Feuillien Saison

Very, very dry; pale dried fruits and pale freshly-baked (and maybe a little crusty) bread on top, with grassy-floral bitterness right behind. Distant caramel, and some earthy-funky character, way back in the background.

Very, very light-bodied, with what feels like a lot of carbonation. Drying and refreshing and cleansing. Finish is quick and mostly clean.

Truly a remarkable saison, immensely drinkable. Intense and complex and wonderfully well-integrated. I first had this with chili, in the absence of Dupont's Vielle Provision, and it rocked that hard. Goes superbly with food, and stands on its own better than just fine, thanks. Only slightly less awesome than the Dupont. Awesome. (And props to the guy at the beer store who recommended this beer.)
