Flying Dog Disobedience

Tongiht's beer: Flying Dog Disobedience

Flying Dog Disobedience

Caramel and dark bread, backed by fruits—mainly bananas, kinda oddly, but raisins and cherries also present. Some dark baking spices and some earthy-grassy bitterness emerge more toward the finish. Something almost tart/sour, like a Flemish Red or Brown, dries the beer out through finish into the aftertaste.

Very light-bodied, with lots of fine, dense carbonation. A gentle pucker toward the finish. Really not a lot of alcohol presence, given the 7.6% ABV. Gently drying and impressively refreshing.

An interesting take on a Dubbel, kinda reminiscent of the Petrus Dubbel Bruin, with something tart/sour/tangy in the background (though that's more prevalent in the Petrus). Complex and integrated and flavorful. Nice to be surprised pleasantly, once in a while. Yummy and immensely drinkable.
