Firestone Walker 805

Tonight's beer: Firestone Walker 805

Firestone Walker 805

Bread, toast, caramel, fruits (pale, dried/candied); some earthy-grassy-floral bitterness emerges toward the middle, lasts through the finish. Maybe a hint of something mineral on the finish.

Light-bodied and pillowy-soft, with good carbonation. A vague trace of stickiness on the finish, but mostly very clean. Gently-drying and immensely quenching and refreshing.

An astonishingly refreshing beer, perfect for hot weather, especially if there's any sort of exertion involved. Amazingly drinkable. Considering the 4.7% ABV, there's a lot of flavor here, intense and integrated and balanced. This really seems as though it would be a great beer for people open to good beer but unfamiliar with it; this is a very accessible beer. Also, a very good one.
