Tonight's beer: Schneider & Sohne (Tap 5)/Brooklyner Hopfenweisse
Pale bread, gentle toast, touches of caramel; clobbered with bananas. Impressions of other pale fruits—some citrus, some not—maybe a step back. Grassy-floral-piney bitterness very prevalent. Hints of spice in the background, with possibilities of something like white rum. Surprisingly, the beer dries out a lot, after a pretty sweet start.
Smooth. So smooth, and somewhat dense; decently carbonated. Stunningly refreshing. A little syrupy stickiness on the back end. Softly drying, with just a trace of boozy prickle but no real heat.
The same beer in a different label: The Schneider/Brooklyner Hopfenweisse is a beer I've loved since the first time I had it. Beautifully balanced and awesomely well-integrated; intense and complex. A graceful beer, and a frightneningly drinkable one. Wow.
