Tongiht's beer: Flying Dog In Heat Hefeweizen
Bananas up front, with threads of other pale fruits—apples and pears, mostly, with maybe a trace of something more tropical—all of them tilting at least a little toward the dried/candied side. Clover and allspice and maybe a hint of ginger and/or cinnamon right behind. Some pale bread in the background, with a dash of pepper flashing past. What sweet there is at the start is more than equaled by tart; the beer dries out a lot by the end.
Very light-bodied, with lots of carbonation; very smooth, immensely drying and refreshing. Powerfully quenching, and very clean at the finish.
A very nice hefeweizen, one I have to call slurpable based on how quickly my glass is emptying.Plenty of flavor, about what I'd expect from the style; complex, balanced, and integrated. An excellent (if somewhat conventional) take on a style I like a lot from Flying Dog.
