Tonight's beer: Magic Hat Hex
Bread, caramel, and toast; floral-grassy bitterness equal to the task of balancing things. Traces of pine and fruit. Nicely dry pretty much from start to finish.
Medium-bodied with decent lively-prickly carbonation. Drying and quenching and very refreshing. A trace of bready chewiness and stickiness in the back of the finish.
A nicely drinkable Amber Ale from Magic Hat. Balanced and integrated; not overwhelmingly complex or intense. Kinda middle-of-the-road. Not bad as a fall-seasonal beer, pretty much an American equivalent to an Oktoberfestbier.
