Tonight's beer: Full Sail Brewer's Share Phil's Existential Alt
Grassy-floral bitterness up front, with some earthy character. Caramel toasty sweetness looming right behind achieves something like balance. Dim impressions of spice and candied fruits, maybe a dash of nuts/toffee. Bitter, then dry.
Medium-bodied, or maybe a little bit lighter than that, decently carbonated. A little roundish juiciness, then nicely drying and refreshing. A little sticky through the finish.
A very drinkable and thoroughly pleasant beer. I haven't had tons of altbiers, so I can't say how to-style it is, but this is nice—intense, complex, balanced, integrated. Bravely done, and delicious.
