Tonight's beer: Lancaster Oktoberfest
Bread, caramel, toffee; impressions of nuts, dried fruits, baking spice. Flickering earthy-grassy bitterness, mostly toward the finish. Bready-sweet, then dries out gently.
Bready-chewy, medium bodied, with decent soft carbonation. A trace of stickiness on the finish, but mostly clean and quite refreshing.
A typically drinkable Oktoberfest. Decently intense and wonderfully well-balanced; direct and simple. A beer style that really does beg to be served with food. A deliciously well-socialized beer.
