Tonight's beer: Uinta (Crooked Line) Birthday Suit

Tart cherries, like unsweetened pie cherries, on top and in front, but initial impression is also very dry. Some juicy sweetness does emerge in the middle, with vague hints of bread, caramel, and honey. The beer dries out again through the finish, with earth and funk and hay and other assorted wild-ale-ish oddments strewn about the landscape.

Very light-bodied and copiously carbonated. Drying, quenching, and *very* refreshing. Clean and cleansing to the point of being scrubbing.

I'm pretty much digging this—it might be the first tart /sour cherry beer I've had that didn't taste at all like red wine vinegar. Nicely integrated, and decently flavorful; pleasantly drinkable. Very nice to see a brewer stretching their comfort zone—and mine, too, to an extent.
