Heavy Seas The Greater Pumpkin

Tonight's beer: Heavy Seas The Greater Pumpkin

Heavy Seas The Greater Pumpkin

Caramel, butter, vanilla. Lots of spices and pumpkin and other bourbon elements threaded in as a backstop. Dark bread and earthy-grassy bitterness lingering in the middle distance. Sweet from the start and through the middle; dries out some around the end; spicy throughout.

On the thick side of medium-bodied, gently carbonated. Amply drying, gentle pleasant bourbon-ish warmth. Some distinct stickiness on the finish.

Yum! The bourbon character in this beer plays astonishingly well with the pumpkins and spices, here. Smooth and drinkable as hell. Comples and intense, beautifully integrated. I almost didn't come across this, this year. I'm glad I found it. Good local beer is a *very* good thing.
