Tonight's beer: Heavy Seas Loose Cannon
Citrussy-piney bitterness on top, woven in with floral-grassy undertones. Pale bread, with crackery impressions, in the background; dim hints of caramel and toast. Juicy through the middle; dries out through and after the finish.
On the light side of medium-bodied, decently-carbonated. Very drying, quenching, impressively refreshing. A bit of resinous stickiness on the finish, but pretty clean. Cleansing to the point of scrubbing.
A stunningly drinkable biggish IPA. One of my favorite beers, and pleasingly local to me. Intense, complex, integrated; tilted heavily toward the hops—but clearly intentionally so. Delicious from start to finish.
