Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Tonight's beer: Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Piny-citrussy bitterness, threaded with flowers and grass. Caramel-toast-bread a wall in the background. Some dim and distant flickers of spice and dried/candied fruits. Bitter up front, then very dry through the finish; never particularly sweet.

Medium-bodied, with what feels like good carbonation.Drying from start to finish; scrubbing and very refreshing. A bit of bready/resinous stickiness lingers a long time.

One of the most popular IPAs, for a very good reason. Deliciously unbalanced; intense and complex bitterness spattered like a Pollock painting. A beautiful beer in the glass, as a bonus. I can think of few better ways to celebrate the winter holidays (any or all of them). Yum.
