Tonight's beer: Stillwater Artisanal Autumnal
Caramel and toast up front a bit. Floral-earthy-grassy bitterness filling in, more than adequate for balance. Pepper and herbs, dim hints of dark woody spices. Maybe a trace of smoke in the distance. Starts sweet; transitions through spice-bitter to nicely and markedly dry.
Medium-bodied, and amply carbonated. Some chewiness and stickiness on the finish and beyond; drying and refreshing. The vaguest hint of something mineral in the background. Cleansing and scrubbing.
Yet another delicious beer from Stillwater. Intense and complex as hell; tightly woven and holds together very well. Astonishingly drinkable; a beer that practically begs to go with food. A great beer for a very late autumn evening. Awesome.
