Heavy Seas Loose Cannon

Tonlight's beer: Heavy Seas Loose Cannon

Heavy Seas Loose Cannon

Citrus, flowers, pine; strong impressions of melons, musk, grass around the edges of tapestry of bitterness. Bready-caramel sweetness behind, spiked by fruitiness that somehow manages to be simultaneously dried/candied and juicy/pulpy. Maybe a whisper of spice off in the distance. Bitter, then a dim flicker of sweet, then expansively arid.

Just a touch on the light side of medium-bodied, with decent fine carbonation. A little bready chewiness; plenty of syrupy/resinous stickiness through the finish and beyond. Drying as hell, and immensely refreshing.

Such a good IPA, and blessedly conveniently local. Impressively drinkable: intense and complex; nicely integrated, and hops-inflected but clearly intentionally so. Delicious from start to finish, and attractive in the glass to boot.
