Tonight's beer: 21st Amendment Sneak Attack

21st Amendment Sneak Attack

Floral-grassy-spicy bitterness up-front, with lots of earthy cardamom character woven in. Pale bread touched by caramel more in the background. Pale citrus—mostly lemons—dancing around the edges. Starts bitter, finishes dry.

Light-bodied, with mild carbonation. Immensely drying and refreshing, with sporadic squirts of juiciness. Finish is pretty clean and cleansing. Just a trace of stickiness.

A very nice beer. Possibly a bit under-carbonated for a saison, but plenty tasty and drinkable. Intense and complex; lots of cardamom well-integrated into the overall beer. As the brewer says, it's not a typical winter seasonal, but it's a very pleasant one.
