Tonight's beer: Terrapin Pumpkinfest
Pumpkins, caramel, molasses, maple, brown sugar. Toast and bread mingle in, but back a little. Spicy-grassy-earthy bitterness arises in the middle, and the beer finishes quite dry.
Medium-bodied, kinda chewy; quietly carbonated, and a bit drying. Surprisingly cleansing and refreshing. A bit round through the middle.
A very drinkable pumpkin beer, indeed. The bottle at least implies the base beer is an Oktoberfest lager, but it's dominated enough by the pumpkins and the spices that it's hard to tell. Decently intense and complex and integrated. Probably a bit out of season, to say the least, but nice all the same.
