Woodchuck Private Reserve Barrel Select Cider

Tonight's --beer-- beverage: Woodchuck Private Reserve Barrel Select Cider

Woodchuck Private Reserve Barrel Select Cider

Tart apples are dominant (duh). Definite bourbon character—caramel and vanilla and traces of butter. Juicy-sweet to start, but dries out respectably by the finish.

Light-bodied and juicy, nicely-carbonated. A touch of syrupy stickiness, but mostly clean and drying and refreshing. Maybe a dim flicker of boozy heat—nothing unpleasant.

Delicious, as a change of pace from the nightly beers, and very drinkable. Plenty of bourbon character makes for more complexity than I've found typical for cider. Nicely-integrated. Beautiful in the glass, and seems like something that would go *very* well with food.
