Terrapin Moo-Hoo

Tonight's beer: Terrapin Moo-Hoo

Terrapin Moo-Hoo

Dark bread, toast, caramel; great big dollops of chocolate into the middle. Earthy-grassy bitterness provides contrast and perhaps something like balance. Caramel and milk chocolate in a long finish.

Thick and dense and smooth, syrupy-sticky. Gently-carbonated. Pretty chewy through the middle, then a long and sticky finish that's just a little drying.

Not quite as much of a chocolate-bomb as it smells like. Still pretty syrupy and roasty, but maybe not so much of a Johnny-One-Note beer as it might have been. Intense enough, if pretty straightforward; pretty well-integrated, even if it's very chocolate-forward (though not a chocolate-bomb). Plenty drinkable, especially as basically a dessert beer (but nowhere near Southern Tier's big stouts in that regard).
