Tonight's beer: Moa Breakfast
Pale bread, peppery wheat; floral-grassy bitterness. Strong impressions of cherries (mostly tart) and bright spices. Hints of lemon and other citrus in the distance. Starts out a little sweet, but dries out quickly and pretty thoroughly.
Very light-bodied, well-carbonated. Crisp, drying, very refreshing; almost puckering around the finish. Mostly clean, with just a trace of syrupy stickiness.
This is not a coffee-replacement breakfast beer; it's more of a refreshing mimosa-replacement beer for consumption with breakfast or brunch or maybe even lunch. Fruity and brisk and very drinkable. Intense and complex, after one gets past the fact that the beer smells like cherries and nothing but cherries; nicely integrated and balanced. I know Australia and New Zealand have good and lively craft beer scenes, but this is the first good beer I've had from there.
