Tonight's beer: Uinta Baba
Dark toasty and roasty flavors bust out immediately—dark bread, toast, chocolate, flickers of coffee. A faint glow of caramel through the middle, then finishes with earthy-grassy bitterness. Vague hints of smoke and ash.
Light-bodied, nicely-carbonated. Drying and highly refreshing. Pretty clean and surprisingly refreshing.
Very nice, indeed. Tons of flavor here, for a 4% ABV beer. Intense and (for the style) pretty complex; balanced and integrated. Remarkably drinkable. An excellent and straightforward take on what's still something of an esoteric style. I *like* schwarzbiers, and I'm always happy to find a good one.
