Tonight's beer: Boulevard Irish Ale
Thoroughly caramelized and toasty, with strong impressions of tea. Peat, earth, and grass in the interstices. Toffee and/or nuts flickering in the distance. Dries out gradually through the finish.
Maybe a little heavier or thicker-bodied than medium, but pretty graceful and decently carbonated. A little chewy and sticky, but very refreshing; softly drying and gently cleansing.
A very drinkable and very accessible take on a very drinkable and very accessible style. Plenty of flavor, here, but it's more rich and balanced than intense—though there's a surprising amount of complexity and depth; very well-integrated. Delicious, as I've some to expect from Boulevard.
