Heavy Seas (Uncharted Waters) Siren Noire

Tonight's beer: Heavy Seas (Uncharted Waters) Siren Noire

Heavy Seas (Uncharted Waters) Siren Noire

Dark bread, with lots of roast—mostly dark chocolate, some coffee—backed by earth, grass, peat. Vanilla and spice lurking, with other bourbon-ish impressions around the perimeter. Caramel more apparent through the middle, between roasty-bitter and slowly dry.

Thin but kinda dense, decently carbonated. Some distant boozy heat, nothing unpleasant. A bit drying, with plenty of syrupy stickiness.

Wow, or something (probably woiw). Intense anc complex for days, but plenty balanced and integrated, drinkable as heck. Alcohol definitely pleasant, but carried with a good deal of grace. Chocolate and bourbon character not overwhelming, at all. I've come to like and respect Heavy Seas a lot, and this is an excellent and delicious addition to their portfolio; I suspect this would age nicely for at least a year.
