Wild Heaven Invocation

Tonight's beer: Wild Heaven Invocation

Wild Heaven Invocation

Laden with pale fruits—mostly apples and pears, with some peach and nectarine in the background, a flicker or three of melons and assorted tropical fruits—backed by bright-ish baking spices (ginger and cloves) and grassy-floral bitterness. A momentary flash of sweetness, then dry, then bitter. A vague brandy-ish aura in the aftertaste.

In the vicinity of medium-bodied, kinda soft and chewy, with a lot of carbonation. A vague alcohol glow, but nothing like what I'd expect for 8.5% ABV. Finish lingers some, drying and something like refreshing.

A delicious beer, and pretty spot-on for the style. Tons of flavor: complex and very intense; wonderfully balanced and integrated; drinkable as hell, though it's strong enough that sipping is highly recommended. I'm glad we picked up a 4-pack of this when we were in Georgia a few months ago. Yum!
