Dogfish Head Hellhound on my Ale

Tonight's beer: Dogfish Head Hellhound on my Ale

Dogfish Head Hellhound on my Ale

Lots and lots of cutrus: mainly lemon, with a good deal fo grapefruit and a healthy dollop of orange; pine and flowers and grass joining in the bitterness bacchanalia, with the whole shot through with dim spicy flickers and slightly offset ("balanced" doesn't exist in thie beer's universe) by some pale toasty bready sweetness.

Maybe on the light side of medium-bodied, well-carbonated, pulpy-juicy. Eventually scrubbing almost to the point of scouring, with a long, resinous-sticky, drying-like-a-desert-wind finish. distressingly little alcohol heat.

Another Double IPA that carries a substantial boozy payload with astonishing grace and alarming subtlety. Intense and complex as hell (heh, heh), and nicely integrated. Very drinkable, though at 10% ABV sipping this beer is probably a better idea. Delicious.
