Uinta (Crooked Line) Sea Legs

Tonight's beer: Uinta (Crooked Line) Sea Legs

Uinta (Crooked Line) Sea Legs

Chocolate fights a duel with vanilla to open things, against a backdrop of dark bread, toast, and caramel. Coffee, earth, peat, grass, smoke, ash woven. Somewhere in the distance, there is wood.

Not particularly thick, but pretty dense. Decently carbonated. Softly drying, with a bit of syrupy stickiness. A little warmth, maybe, but not much for 8% ABV.

A delicious and very drinkable Baltic Porter, subtly but effectively enhanced by barrel-aging. Intense and complex as hell, wonderfully balanced and integrated. This is a style I like a lot, from a brewery I like a lot; I don't get anything like an optimal quantity of either.
